The Union Kempsville is proud to announce that it has received a community grant from Dollar Bank to purchase fitness and wellness equipment for Union Baptist Church.
The grant will support the Union Kempsville's efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and expand wellness opportunities for church members and the surrounding community.
"We are grateful to Dollar Bank for investing in our mission and our community," said Jon McGlothian, President of the Union Kempsville. "This grant represents an investment in the health, fellowship, and well-being of the individuals and families we serve."
The funding opportunity was identified and coordinated by Dr. Wanda Cooper, whose efforts helped secure the award. Union Kempsville also thanks the Union Kempsville Foundation Board of Directors, the Union Baptist Church Trustees, and church leadership for their continued partnership in bringing this project to fruition.
The Church Trustees will oversee the purchase and installation of the equipment, while the Foundation will provide financial oversight and document the project's completion and community impact.
This award marks one of the Foundation's first externally funded initiatives since becoming a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity and reflects its commitment to responsible stewardship, community collaboration, and improving quality of life throughout the Kempsville community.
